Overhaul and Repair Services
The FAA established a requirement that ozone concentration in cabin air must meet the same air quality standards as those enforced by NIOSH and OSHA for the work place environment. As a response, AeroParts developed a unique converter overhaul process obtaining FAA approved specialized service in 1991.
The ozone converter is a pressure vessel containing a palladium-based catalyst coating on a metallic or ceramic substrate. Over time, the effects of erosion and the accumulation of contaminants necessitate the replacement or overhaul of the ozone converter. The interval between overhaul and replacement depends on the type of aircraft and the routes flown but usually falls between 10,000 and 14,000 hours. For best performance and service life, the ozone converter requires both cleaning and replacement of lost catalyst.
AeroParts' unique procedure includes a thorough cleaning process which partially restores the performance of the ozone converter. New catalyst is then added. The overhaul process used by AeroParts restores the ozone decomposition efficiency of exhausted converters to 96%–98% resulting in improved performance and service life.
A major benefit of the AeroParts' procedure is our ability to overhaul the converter without opening the case or removing the cores. This insures short turnaround time resulting in significant cost savings.

Tired of leaking Carbon Seal Joints? The original configuration of the A320 family of wing–fuselage ducts made use of "carbon seal joints". These joints are complex using several layers of seals, spacers and shims – "all designed to leak".
Bird Bellows designed a replacement joint guaranteed for the life of the aircraft. AeroParts and Bird worked together to develop this repair. The new Bird Bellows repair is now in the A320 repair manual. We were ahead of the industry with this repair and are still the best source to accomplish this job.
